I went for a run around the corner (yes in the real world outside of a gym) and found a local park that I didn’t know existed. A dimly lit path through some bushland and quite overgrown. It’s good to get out moving even if it’s cold, but my ankles and shins are killing me. I need to run more often I think!
It is more important that innocence be protected than it is that guilt be punished, for guilt and crimes are so frequent in this world that they cannot all be punished. But if innocence itself is brought to the bar and condemned, perhaps to die, then the citizen will say, “whether I do good or whether I do evil is immaterial, for innocence itself is no protection,” and if such an idea as that were to take hold in the mind of the citizen that would be the end of security whatsoever.

I participated in the Holden Sporting Car Club of Queensland Come and Try motorkhana today. It was quite challenging but for the tests I undertook I found it quite fun. My biggest issue was with making mistakes with my directions which results in a Wrong Direction score. I’m looking forward to the next event!
Hoya has sold the Pentax camera division to Ricoh. The Pentax Imaging Systems Division will be spun-out as a new company and its shares transfered to Ricoh on October 1st. The deal will also include the Pentax camera manufacturing subsidiary in Vietnam. A public announcement from Hoya explains that Ricoh is looking to build a consumer cameras business and wanted Pentax’s interchangeable lens camera technology, lens technology and sales channels. Its plans for the business specifically include the interchangeable lens camera market. Hoya will retain the other Pentax businesses, such as medical devices, that it gained in its 2007 takeover. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but Japanese business paper Nikkei Business Daily reports a price of about 10 billion yen ($124.2 million).
…On completion of the Acquisition, Ricoh will begin to use the PENTAX brand name for some of its digital camera products, and HOYA will continue to use the PENTAX brand name for their endoscopes and other products.
I had fun on the recent MX5 track day at Lakeside. Unfortunately my car wasn’t running very well and didn’t make much power over 5000rpm but I was still very consistent with my times and placed well in the regularity! There was a silver Nissan S15 on the track and if you watch closely it was shooting flames out the exhaust!
