It is more important that innocence be protected than it is that guilt be punished, for guilt and crimes are so frequent in this world that they cannot all be punished. But if innocence itself is brought to the bar and condemned, perhaps to die, then the citizen will say, “whether I do good or whether I do evil is immaterial, for innocence itself is no protection,” and if such an idea as that were to take hold in the mind of the citizen that would be the end of security whatsoever.

I shut down the computer but I can only hope and pray that when I next start the computer the drive comes up again.

Apparently the selling agent dropped an Open House notice in my letterbox yesterday morning. Of course I was at work and didn’t get home until quite late. Somehow that constitutes 24 hours notice for the open house that’s going on around me just after I walked in the door tonight.

Had a word to the agent that more notice would have been greatly appreciated, (especially since they only had an open house two days ago!) but it’s done now, the people are already inside, making a scene really won’t accomplish much.

People walking in and out, opening and closing cupboards, flicking my lights on and off, tapping on my walls and asking how they could “get rid of the tenant…”

Even with the bulk of a 12 month lease behind me, the tenant is never the lord of his castle.

I really wish I wasn’t doing this alone.

The more things change the more things stay the same. 20 years in and I still have to restart my computer for an update to some blogging software?
