Google docs

I’m sure it’s of no suprise for most people but I have recently discovered google docs. I’ve found it quite useful for updating spreadsheets when using many different computers. Not having to check file versions and ensuring you’re carrying a document physically with you is quite enlightening. Maybe cloud computing has a place in the world after all? The main obvious downside is of course that it is completely useless when you’re disconnected from the internet.

Mysterious ways – U2

Johnny take a walk with your sister the moon Let her pale light in to fill up your room You’ve been living underground Eating from a can You’ve been running away From what you don’t understand… Love   She’s slippy You’re sliding down She’ll be there when you hit the ground   It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright She moves in mysterious ways It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright She moves in mysterious ways   Johnny take a dive with your sister in the rain Let her talk about the things you can’t explain To touch is to heal To hurt is to steal If you want to kiss the sky Better learn how to kneel   (on your knees boy)   She’s the wave She turns the tide She sees the man inside the child   It’s alright, it’s … Continue reading

Three point six seconds

3.6 seconds x 100 = 6 minutes. 3.6 seconds and another person dies of hunger. (apparently) 3.6 seconds to boot 10.04 Lucid Lynx from an SSD. 3.6 seconds for a Porsche GT2, Lotus Elite or a Tesla Roadster to accelerate to 60 mph. 3.6 seconds and another website is infected (source Sophos) 3.6 seconds for a Canon Powershot SX20 to take 5 photos.

Thirty one in.

I’ve found that when those who are significant to us pass out of our lives, it feels like a new life is created with full memories of the past. But life rebooted none the less. Painful but out of reach. (even with long arms)

Big hearted

Well I went to visit my doctor yesterday and it turns out I have a big heart. Or to be more precise an enlarged heart. To be honest I had never heard of this condition before but apparently it’s more common than you’d think. On the Xrays (which I should have taken a photo of for this blog) there was quite a noticeable difference in my chest cavity as demonstrated by the doctor. He sent me back out to the waiting room whilst he consulted with the specialist for my treatment and I immediately hit google on my phone for more information. Wikipedia wasn’t an immediate help but emaxhealth had a bit more information. Dr. Lori Mosca, director of preventive cardiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital explained in 2007 at a meeting of the American Heart Association, following the sudden death of … Continue reading

Apple event 20th October 2010

Engadget has reported that Apple will have a “Back to the Mac” event on the 20th of October. I’d hazard a guess that the event will coincide with a release of some portable hardware. I think it would be fair to say 10.7 will be also announced with the name Lion. I wouldn’t expect to have a Lion on your desktop for at least a year given previous releases.

Issues with WoW patch 4.0.1

“Mammoth pictures do not fit inside of the mount preview window.” Why do I find this funny?
